CTRS question

Hi All,

I just finished my Bachelor of Recreation and Leisure Studies with Major in Therapeutic Recreation from Brock University in Ontario, Canada. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic my CTRS internship has been cancelled and we where just left with the degree. I have ALL of the academic part of the NCTRC requirements finished and met but I still need to do my hours under a practicing CTRS.

Does anyone know if I'm able to do my clinical hours under a practicing CTRS virtually and still meet the NCTRC requirements to write the exam?

All help is great!

NCTRC was approving virtual internships in summer 2020.  I would suggest contacting NCTRC and ensure this is still approved.  I believe with the current pandemic it will be.  You will still need a practicing CTRS to be your internship supervisor, keep an hours log, etc. to make your internship eligible for your certification.  I wish you the best of luck!
